We love being number one. Chevrolet has cemented its domination of the FIA World Touring car Championship (WTCC). The team swooped to victory again this year, winning both the driver and the manufacturer titles – twice in a row.
The manufacturer title was actually sealed in September after the Chevrolet team built up an unassailable lead – too many points to catch. However, the driver title went to the wire, with all three Chevrolet drivers in contention.
Yvan Muller re-takes his WTCC driver’s title
After a truly nail-biting finish, Frenchman Yvan Muller emerged as the winner of the WTCC driver’s competition, after successfully fending off his own Chevrolet team mates, Britain’s Rob Huff and Swiss driving legend Alain Menu – who finished in second and third places respectively. This extraordinary feat means Yvan retains his dominance at the top of this exciting global competition.
